The Federation appoints an on-board electronics engineer

As a result of the 2024 call for tenders, during which it was decided to select the proposal of a shared electronics engineer, the Federation is strengthening its team with the arrival of Kouassi Kouassi on 1 April 2025 as an electronics engineer for a period of 13 months.

Kouassi Kouassi is an embedded electronics engineer. Originally from Côte d’Ivoire, he obtained a grant to begin his university career in Tunisia, where he studied electrical engineering with a major in automatic control and industrial computing. It was there that he had his first significant professional experience at Tunisie Télécom, where he was in charge of electrical equipment maintenance. He then joined the University of Perpignan, where he completed his degree in electronics, electrical energy and automation. As part of his studies, he joined Stereolabs (Montrouge), a 3D camera company renowned for its work on James Cameron’s film Avatar 2. His tasks involved testing and checking the cameras at the end of production, as well as testing and assembling the electronic boards sold with the cameras.

As he has a definite affinity with electronics and is very mobile, he enrolled for a master’s degree in embedded electronics at the University of Lorraine, graduating in September 2024. His 3rd and most memorable professional experience was in Nancy, as part of a collaboration between EDF and the Institut Jean Lamour. The aim was to conduct a study to find out whether diabetes management devices were affected by exposure to a magnetic field at work (spoiler: no). To do this, Kouassi designed and conducted electromagnetic compatibility tests on an insulin pump and a blood glucose sensor. At the same time, he worked on the concept of an artificial pancreas in which the pump and blood glucose sensor communicate to regulate glucose levels in the body.

With his interest in space, joining the Federation as an electronics technician is a great way to start his career by combining his areas of study and interest.
