Join the community

In its role as a federating body for players involved in scientific nanosatellite projects, the Fédération Nanosats can admit new members from the public and private sectors in the Paris region. The administrative calendar is such that registration is only possible until September to join the Nanosats Federation in 2025. After that, the next entry session will not be until 2028 but will extend to the whole of France perimeter.

Joining the Nanosats Federation gives you access to shared information, experience and know-how, support at every stage of the project, simplified and privileged access to testing facilities and funding opportunities for pooled projects.

At present, to be a member of the Nanosats Federation, your institution or at least one of its sites must be located in the Paris region and you must have experience of or intend to develop a short-term activity in the development of scientific nanosatellites. If you meet these criteria, you will find below the appropriate membership procedure for your situation.

If you work for a public research laboratory

• and your unit is a member of the Federation: the procedure is simple, as all you have to do is reach the Federation Nanosats point of contact in your unit and contact the Director of the Federation Nanosats to finalise your registration.
• your unit is not a member of the Federation but one of your unit’s supervisory bodies is already supporting the Federation: simply ask your hierarchy to join the Nanosats Federation and ask them to send the request to the Federation executive committee.
• none of your unit’s supervisory bodies is a member of the Federation: you will need to contact your main supervisory body and make sure that it is ready to make a financial commitment to validate your unit’s entry ticket. If it is, you will need to contact the Federation executive committee as soon as possible during the summer of 2024 to apply for admission in 2025, or wait until 2027, when membership will be reopened for 2028.

If you work in the private sector

It is entirely possible to join the Federation if your company has activities related to nanosatellites and at least one of its sites is located in the Paris region. You can first request a preliminary interview with the Federation’s executive committee. Then you will need to make sure that your hierarchy agrees and is prepared to make a financial commitment to validate your entry ticket.
