{"id":423,"date":"2018-02-23T18:01:43","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T17:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/?p=423"},"modified":"2019-11-05T14:37:10","modified_gmt":"2019-11-05T13:37:10","slug":"elementary-middle-high-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/en\/2018\/02\/23\/elementary-middle-high-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Elementary, middle and high school"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Elementary school<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In 2017-2018, I started an astronomy program at the Cabanac-et-Villagrains elementary school for all grades, consisting in an interactive lecture in each classroom on the following themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1st-2nd grade (CP-CE1): Les phases de la Lune et les \u00e9clipses<\/li>\n<li>2nd-4th grade (CE1-CE2-CM1): Le Syst\u00e8me Solaire<\/li>\n<li>4th-5th grade (CM1-CM2): La conqu\u00eate spatiale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In parallel, I mentored the project &#8220;Notre Terre, une plan\u00e8te du Syst\u00e8me Solaire&#8221; education project of the 1st grade (CP) of this school. They were competing for the SF2A &#8220;D\u00e9couvrir l&#8217;Univers&#8221; Prize (<a href=\"http:\/\/astrophy.u-bordeaux.fr\/concours-decouvrir-dunivers\/\">competition website<\/a>). The themes of this project were: the terrestrial globe, the Earth-Sun couple, the Earth-Moon couple and the tides, the Sun-Earth-Moon system: moon phases and eclipses, the Earth in the Solar System. The project consisted of a series of experiments, interactive presentations, observations, artistic model of the Solar System, etc.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-182 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/files\/2018\/02\/logo-sf2a.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"141\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/files\/2018\/02\/logo-sf2a.jpg 820w, https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/files\/2018\/02\/logo-sf2a-300x52.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/files\/2018\/02\/logo-sf2a-768x132.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The kids were awarded the SF2A Jury Prize in July 2018 and won a Solarscope for their school. Congratulations! (More on this <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.lesia.obspm.fr\/thibault-cavalie\/en\/2018\/07\/18\/sf2a-2018-prize-decouvrir-lunivers\/\">post<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>This programme has continued in 2018-2019 and I have proposed the following interactive lectures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Sun for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades (CP, CE1 and CE2)<\/li>\n<li>The exploration of the Solar System) for the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades (CE2, CM1 and CM2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I was also due to organize an observation of the Sun with the Solarscope, but the Sun is still in a very quiet period and we are still waiting for the first spots to appear.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018-2019, I have also visited the Charruauds primary school in Libourne to help the teacher to prepare a visit of the Cit\u00e9 de l&#8217;Espace.
