All stars oscillate: studying these pulsations helps understand the structure and rotation profiles of the stars. In particular, I will focus on the poorly understood transition to the red-giant phase, a complex transformation involving dramatic changes to structure and rotation. We used deep learning to infer the structure and rotation parameters of red giants to better understand their physics.
