However, most <em>Kepler<\/em> stars are faint and\n therefore have limited constraints from independent methods such as \nlong-term ground-based activity monitoring. In addition, population \nstudies of exoplanets orbiting seismic <em>Kepler<\/em> stars \nyielded unprecedented insights for planet formation and evolution, \nincluding the discovery of the so-called sub-Neptune desert. However, a \nlarge fraction of <em>Kepler<\/em> planet candidates are still \nawaiting confirmation and therefore, the population of planets orbiting \nasteroseismic stars is still incomplete. Fortunately TESS is now \ntargeting stars in the nearby solar neighborhood, enabling the unique \nopportunity to precisely characterize bright systems for which long-term\n radial velocity time series are already available. In this talk, I will\n present the TESS discovery of solar-like oscillations for naked-eye \nsolar-analogue \u237a\n Mensae and discuss why this is a benchmark system for both stellar \nastrophysics and exoplanet science.
