Pens\u00e9 dans la continuit\u00e9 de la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.esa.int\/Applications\/Observing_the_Earth\/FutureEO\/Swarm\">mission Swarm<\/a>, NanoMagSat vise \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer notre compr\u00e9hension du champ magn\u00e9tique terrestre et de l\u2019environnement ionosph\u00e9rique, pour entre autres \u00e9valuer les dangers potentiels d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements magn\u00e9tiques pour les infrastructures spatiales et terrestres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour ce faire, les trois satellites, de 16U et environ 30kg chacun, seront munis de deux magn\u00e9tom\u00e8tres, de deux cam\u00e9ras stellaires, d\u2019une sonde Langmuir et de deux r\u00e9cepteurs GNSS. Ces satellites seront d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s sur trois orbites compl\u00e9mentaires \u00e0 partir de fin 2027 pour une dur\u00e9e nominale d\u2019op\u00e9ration de 3 ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lors du second Earth Observation Commercialisation forum le 27 novembre 2024 \u00e0 Francfort, l\u2019ESA a sign\u00e9 un contrat de 34,6 millions d\u2019euros avec la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Open Cosmos (Royaume-Uni et Espagne), contractant principal d\u2019un consortium associant industriels et partenaires universitaires.
