Venue<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The conference took place in central Paris, France at CNES headquarters<\/a>, salle de l’Espace. Centre national d’\u00e9tudes spatiales (CNES) is the French government space agency. CNES operates ESA’s launch site in French Guiana & is a major contributor to the M5\/EnVision payload study. CNES headquarters building is facing the RER city train hub Ch\u00e2telet\u2013Les Halles.<\/em>Note: all RER line B trains to\/from CDG Airport stop at Ch\u00e2telet-Les Halles station. To reach the conference building, follow exit escalators to exit 2 – Porte Berger<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airport transportation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The simplest and fastest way from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) to central Paris is the City train RER line B (about 50 min, one train every ~15 min). Once at the airport train station’s large atrium, follow escalators down to Paris city trains (RER B) and Grandes Lignes trains (TGV intercity trains) to buy Paris train tickets. Your RER train ticket will cost 10.30 \u20ac and is also good for connections onto the Paris Metro and other RER train lines once you\u2019ve arrived inside Paris’ city limits (on line B : all stations between Gare du Nord<\/em> and Cit\u00e9 Universitaire<\/em>). Useful websites give you directions and recommendations, such as <\/strong>this one.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

RER and metro ticket vending machines
<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

At CDG Terminal 2 train station are boxy white & blue ticket vending machines labeled as Tickets Navigo Paris et Ile de France \u2013 train, RER, bus, tramway, metro. Use these machines to buy your RER B ticket to destination. At peak hours, passenger lines forming in front of these machines may be discouraging. The interactive touch-screen menu comes in English. Credit cards with a smart chip + PIN will most likely work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
